Guiding and Acronyms

From earliest days, Guiding has had passwords and acronyms - well, all the best clubs did!  From the 1912 handbook there were constant reminders to 'TIB' - or Tuck In Back - posture was a major concern.  It continued through Guiding with a range of acronyms, mottoes and jargon.

GCU - appeared in the Brownie Handbook from 1968 through to the 1990s.  It stood for 'Good Cleaner-Upper' and encouraged Brownies to practice tidiness.

WW - appeared in the Brownie Handbook from 1968 through to the 1990s.  It stood for 'Willing Worker' and encouraged Brownies to tackle chores with enthusiasm.
