leslie's guiding traditions

The National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra (NSGSO) was formed in 1976 as a joint orchestra of The Scout Association and the Girl Guides Association in the UK. It meets annually, holding a week-long course at a venue within the UK which concludes with two concerts, as well as carrying out occasional other performances. Although in past years these courses were held in different locations around the UK, in recent years they have been held in Birmingham. In the past there have also been tours abroad. The orchestra consists of over 100 Scouts and Guides, all aged between 13 and 30, led by an experienced orchestral conductor, with support from professional musicians who serve as section tutors.
